BBL Trophy Tips Off, Mini Recap 17/09/10

A very brief recap of all BBL Trophy action last night, with leading scorers and links to box scores.

Plymouth Raiders 79 Worthing Thunder 77

The UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders were victorious in their BBL Trophy opener thanks to a Taner Adu basket with 2 seconds remaining. The game remained close throughout, with 16 lead changes but it was the Raiders who came up when it mattered most.

Anthony Rowe led Plymouth with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Taner Adu had 20, whilst Lehmon Bolbert Jr had 19. Evaldas Zabas led Worthing with 31 points, whilst Shaun Durant had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Full box score available here.

Sheffield Sharks 102 Glasgow Rocks 93

The Sheffield Sharks also had a successful start to their BBL Trophy campaign, securing a 9 point victory over the Glasgow Rocks. Despite letting a 20 point lead slip in the fourth quarter, the Sharks managed to hold on for the ‘W’.

Mike Tuck led Sheffield with 28 points and 10 rebounds, Steve Dagostino had 22 and Paul Williams had 20 and 14. Young British prospect Joseph Baugh had 7 points and 5 rebounds for the Sharks in his BBL debut. For the Rocks, Brice Fantazia had 21 whilst EJ Harrison and Moses Mubarak had 20 a peice.
