Eric Boateng (6′10, 245lbs, C, Senior, London) Arizona State Sun Devils
Jacksonville’s Ben Smith scored a game-high 26 points, including a 24-foot jump shot with 1.5 seconds remaining as eighth seeded Jacksonville rallied to upset top-seeded Arizona State in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday night. The game will torture the Sun Devils senior guard Derek Glasser who missed the second of two free throws with 8.6 seconds remaining to give Arizona State (22-11) a 66-64 lead. Boateng played 25 minutes, going 4/5 from the field and 3/5 at the line for 11 points, adding 6 rebounds and 1 steal.

Hugh Barnett (6′9, 265lbs, F/C, Senior, London) Arkansas Pine-Bluff Golden Lions
The Arkansas Bluff Golden Lions’ had a second-half surge to secure a 61-44 victory over Winthrop in the NCAA tournament’s opening game. Hugh Barnet registered a DNP in the win.

The Golden Lions (18-15) will play Duke, the No. 1 seed in the South Regional, on Friday in Jacksonville, Fla..

Ovie Soko (6′8, 225lbs, F, Freshman, London) UAB Blazers
UAB never trailed in defeating Coastal Carolina 65-49 Tuesday in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. Ovie Soko played just 10 minutes in the starting spot, going 0/2 from the field to remain scoreless, but adding 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

UAB (24-8) advances to play North Carolina State in the second round in Birmingham.
