Manchester Basketball have appointed Claire Bradbury as the franchise’s first Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant moment in the club’s development as it prepares for a new era on both the domestic and European stage.
Bradbury steps into the role as the newly launched franchise fields men’s and women’s teams in Super League Basketball, while the men’s side will also compete in the European North Basketball League for the first time.
A proud Northerner with deep ties to Manchester, Bradbury brings over two decades of experience across the sports industry. Her career includes senior marketing roles with global running brands Brooks Sports and ASICS, alongside recent board-level positions in both Rugby Union and Rugby League.
Her appointment is being positioned as a key milestone in Manchester Basketball’s long-term strategy. Bradbury joins an emerging leadership group that includes Head of Media Peter Simmons and General Manager Dominique Allen, the former Team GB Olympian. She will also work closely with men’s head coach Matt Otten and women’s head coach Oli Parr.
Known for her collaborative approach and ability to build high-performance environments, Bradbury brings experience in brand-building, commercial development, data-led decision making, and community engagement – all areas the franchise is looking to strengthen as it establishes its identity in the city.
“Claire joins us at a transformational moment, and I am confident in her ability to help shape what Manchester Basketball becomes,” franchise owner Ben Pierson said.
“She brings not only deep industry experience, but a genuine understanding of this city and its sporting culture. With Claire, Dominique, and Pete forming a strong senior leadership team, we’re building something that will last – on the court, in the community, and in the way we run this organisation – and that will drive the long-term success we’re committed to delivering for Manchester.”
