Anderson spent eight seasons with the Riders, winning several pieces of silverware since joining the club in 2011. He averaged 6.0 points during last season’s title-winning campaign having established himself as a defensive specialist in the league – making the All-Defensive Team of the Year for a second time.
“The city has such a strong basketball culture and I look forward to being part of that,” Anderson said, via release. “It’s a huge time in my life and I’m very excited about what’s to come. Manchester is the home of my wife Georgia. I’m very honoured to have the opportunity to represent the Giants in what’s now my hometown.”
Rob Paternostro commented earlier in the summer: “It’s sad to see him go, he has been the ultimate professional. His work-ethic and commitment to the team have been second to none.
“He has been a fantastic guy to be around, a player that consistently put the work in to improve and a player that can call himself a champion.”
Anderson previously left the Riders to join Cheshire Phoenix in the 2016-17 season before spending a season in Spain having also played with Josh Wilcher in Australia.
The England international becomes Lloyd Gardner’s first confirmed signing of the summer as they look to improve upon last season’s finish that saw Manchester miss out on the playoffs.
