Robinson Idehen & UCSB clinch NCAA Tournament bid with Big West title

Robinson Idehen UC Santa Barbara Big West Title

Robinson Idehen has helped his UC Santa Barbara side to the Big West Tournament title, punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament in the process.

Idehen had 8 points, 5 rebounds and a steal in just 11 minutes in the Championship game, as his side knocked out UC Davis – featuring Brit duo Caleb Fuller and Ade Adebayo – in the tournament semi-finals.

Idehen, a former Barking Abbey player, adds the tournament title to the Big West regular season title, the team’s first since 2010 – Idehen went 5-5 for 12 points in the clinching game against Cal Poly.

UC Santa Barbara return to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2011, earning a No. 12 seed in the West Region, drawing No. 5 seed Creighton in the first round on Saturday.
