JAMES LEADS LAKERS BACK TO TOP

The Los Angeles Lakers secured the NBA Championship for a record-equalling 17th time.

It ultimately came with some ease as they destroyed the Miami Heat 106-93 to clinch a 4-2 series win.

For the fourth time in his career LeBron James – who earned his fourth title – was the MVP of the Finals which were staged without fans inside a bubble in Orlando.

And at age 36, he remains a man for the moment, piling in 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in Game 6 as the Heat were extinguished to bring one of the strangest seasons in memory to a close.

“This was very challenging, and very difficult,” James said. “It played with your mind, and it played with your body. You’re away from some of the things you’re so accustomed to [that make you the professional you are.

“This is right up there with one of the greatest accomplishments I have.”
