‘No Mercy’ a new documentary telling the story of Great Britain star Pops Mensah-Bonsu’s life and basketball journey is being released next week on Monumental Sports Network.
Mensah-Bonsu, who grew up in Tottenham and played under the great, late Joe White in Hackney before departing to the US for High School, had a successful 11-year pro career in the NBA and Euroleague and is now the General Manager of Washington Wizards’ G-League affiliate team, the Capital City Go-Go.
Having had one of the most successful professional basketball careers for any player out of the UK, the 34 minute long documentary intends to tell his story, and is set for release next Thursday by Monumental Sports Network, the OTT digital network owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
For UK fans, it will premiere on Monumental Sports Facebook page on Friday April 17 at 3am (Thursday 16/04 7pm local) and Pops will be watching live and commenting in the chat. It will then remain on Facebook for a week before going on the Monumental Sports Network. Click here for the Facebook event, where you can click ‘Get Reminder’ to be notified when it goes live.
Here’s the 1 minute trailer that dropped yesterday:
“Sports was going to provide for him a platform beyond just the window of time that he was going to be an athlete.”
