Myerscough’s Troy Culley and City of Edinburgh’s Craig Nicol have been selected to coach in the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic Underclassmen game on Sunday June 2nd in Brixton.
Both stalwarts of the British game, they bring national team experience, with Culley currently assisting with the England Under-15 programme, whilst Nicol assists with the Great Britain Under-16 squads, and have both experienced success domestically.
Culley, who is coming off leading Myerscough to 5 national titles this season, including Under-18 National League, will head up Team Black and Nicol, who was involved with Scotland’s Commonwealth Games squad and was Basketball Scotland’s Performance Coach of the Year 2016 and Regional Development Coach of the Year 2016, will lead Team White in the game tipping off at 2pm on Sunday, which has now officially sold out (tickets still available for Saturday by clicking here).
“The Hoopsfix All Star Classic is a great occasion that brings all the top junior players and basketball community together,” Culley commented. “I am really excited to have the opportunity to be involved this year and play a small part in showcasing what the UK has to offer!”
“It’s an honour to be asked to coach at the event. I have been fortunate to work with a lot of these kids through previous national team groups so it will be good to work with them again and see how they have progressed.”
