We’re incredibly pleased to announce the fifth annual Hoopsfix All-Star Classic, taking place across a weekend for the first time on Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd at Brixton Recreation Centre in South London (click here for tickets).
The two-day showcase of the top junior British basketball talent returns, with the addition of an Under-19 Women’s game for the first time, after four previous male-only events which all sold out in advance and put Great Britain’s future stars on the floor at the same time.
The girls will take to the floor on the Saturday in a celebration of women’s basketball, whilst the Sunday will feature a Class of 2019 men’s game for male graduating Seniors, so for many will be their final game on home soil before departing overseas, and the Underclassmen game, for the ‘best of the rest’; players who have at least one more year left before graduating (Class of 2020 or younger).
The event would not be possible without our group of incredible sponsors; Nike have stepped in for the first time as part of a new agreement, along with long-term sponsor Molten who have backed the event since the first year in 2014, as well as equipment, branding and floor suppliers Sportserve Ltd, design and branding partners 5or6, college hoops provider ESPN Player, independent British basketball store Hardwood Ventures, summer camp Let Me Play, and clothing brand Always Ballin’.
We are going to once again put on a weekend to remember that will tip off the summer in the perfect way.
The additional court time on Saturday allows us to once again put on the kids clinic for local London youth, we will be including a coaching clinic for the first time, and along with the dunk contest, will be incorporating a three-point shoot out for the first time.
On Saturday, the doors will open to the public at 3pm, with the Under-19 Women’s game tipping off at 4, whilst on Sunday, the doors will open to the public at 1pm, as the male Underclassmen will tip off at 2pm, whilst at 4pm the top graduating Seniors will take to the floor, in what will be the largest collection of elite young talent seen in the UK in one place in recent memory.
Rosters and full coaching lineups will be released in the coming weeks, along with additional details of the event, with further announcements regarding sponsors and partners to be added.
Once again, there are limited tickets, and if previous years are anything to go by, they will be gone soon! None will be available on the door, so all we can say is to buy early. Every year we are inundated with requests after we have sold out – so consider this a pre-warning; do not wait on it!
Due to Health & Safety, we have a maximum capacity in the gym which we physically are not allowed to go over or we get shut down. We’ll say it again – BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment!
With all proceeds going to the Hoopsfix Foundation – to help fund the Classic along with other projects we have planned – not only will you get a great day of basketball entertainment, but you’ll be giving back to the game!
Buy your tickets direct from Ticket Tailor or tell people to to visit Hoopsfixallstarclassic.com (you can also join the Facebook event for notifications here).
Finally, we’re going to need all of your support on this to make the day reach its potential – please spread the word (using the hashtag #HASC19 – click here to tweet your support now!) – we have a number of freebies to be given away to those that make the most noise about it which will be announced shortly.
If you run a website, club, or any sort of media outlet and want to help let people know about the basketball talent that exists in the UK, please let us know. Email [email protected] with questions or for media accreditation requests on the day.
See you on the 1st & 2nd!
