JBA USA pulled away down the stretch for a 151-137 victory over London Lions in the Big Baller Brand ‘revenge’ clash at The Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park on Saturday night.
With Lions having controlled the majority of the contest, JBA took control in the fourth and pulled away in the final minutes behind the shooting of Jordan Ray, in a game that featured very little defence.
Lions featured a larger squad and rotated often, ensuring players are rested ahead of their BBL match-up with Manchester Giants later today.
It marked the second time the Ball brothers, along with Big Baller Brand have been in London, after they visited with former team BC Vytautas in April where they also picked up a win over the Lions, though this one wasn’t as big of a crowd draw with approximately 1500-2000 fans in attendance, where as it was more than double that earlier in the year.
As with that game, LaMelo Ball once again had a triple double, this time finishing with 42 points, 13 rebounds, and 17 assists, Curtis Hollis had 37 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, whilst Jordan Ray and LiAngelo Ball finished with 25 points a piece.
The Lions were led by 17 points from Jonathan James, 16-a-piece from Ladarius Tabb and Brandon Peel, whilst Jordan Spencer had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists, and Justin Robinson had 12 points and 8 assists. Kervin Bristol finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds, Paul Guede had 12 points and Jerelle Okoro had 11.
