Scotland Stay Unbeaten at Commonwealth Games, Beat India to Finish Pool Stages 3-0

Scotland recorded their third win in the pool stages with a 96-81 victory over India to secure top spot in Pool B, in Townsville, on Sunday.

Rob Beveridge was able to rotate his roster and spread the minutes with Nick Collins top scoring with 16 points as six players hit double figures in the win.

Bristol Flyers’ forward Mike Vigor added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists, while Jonny Bunyan, Ali Fraser and Sean Nealon-Lino all had 10 points apiece.

Scotland came out firing with 33 points in the opening period as they built an early seven-point lead before narrowly increasing their advantage to 49-41 at the half.

With key players rested in the second half, Scotland’s bench stepped up with a 29-11 third period to stretch further clear and despite a strong finish from India, they were able to wrap up a dominant win.

Scotland wait to find out their next opponents with Nigeria their likely opponents unless they upset hosts, Australia.
