Westminster Warriors survived a last gasp attempt from Thames Valley Cavaliers to secure an 86-85 win in the Patrons Cup final on Sunday in Worcester.
Martelle McLemore’s potential game winner bounced off the rim, before Cavaliers’ grabbed the offensive rebound and did not have enough time to get another shot off.
Jon Johnson played all 40 minutes on his way to a rare triple double and MVP honours, registering 22 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.
Justin Hitchman had a game-high 26 points off the bench for Warriors, whilst Ahmed Al Shamari also flirted with a triple double on his way to 7 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists.
Thames Valley were led by 25 points from Martelle McLemore, 21 points and 9 rebounds from Abdoulaye Sylla and 12 points, 9 assists from Prince Lartey.
