Zaire Taylor helped Worthing Thunder collect their first win of the season by edging Kent Crusaders 77-76 in the National Trophy at the Worthing Leisure Centre last Sunday.
Taylor, who made the stepdown to NBL Division 1 from the BBL this season, hit a turnaround jumper with 1.9 seconds left to cap a 30-point game and secure the win as Thunder led for only 18 seconds in the contest.
“The atmosphere was great, especially down the stretch but it don’t matter whether it’s the last seconds of an NBL game, a BBL game or the NBA Finals, even though I’ve never been in that particular situation, a possession is a possession and I had confidence to do that,” said Taylor.
