Kobe Bryant Celebrates Start of NBA Season at Nike Town London

Kobe Bryant in London

Kobe Bryant returned to London this weekend to celebrate the game and the start of the NBA season with the London basketball community’s most passionate fans.

The 18-time All-Star and double Olympic champion showed up at Nike Town in Oxford Circus on Sunday for a special appearance with fans, doing a Q&A and taking pictures.

Bryant is focused on challenging a new wave of athletes with his ‘Mamba Mentality’, a mindset that centres on constantly trying to be the best version of you, pushing yourself to relentlessly improve.

To celebrate this, Nike is re-releasing the Mamba Mentality Pack, which represents the five Mamba Mentality emotions – passion, detached, honesty, fearless and optimism. Each mid-top KOBE A.D. shoe applies Bryant’s intrigue of how colour personally affects him in a collection that illuminates the origins and depth of his unyielding quest for improvement.

Kobe’s presence in London foreshadows the return of the NBA to the capital in January 2018, the only city in Europe that will host a regular season NBA game.

With 64 Europeans in the NBA, a new record, Europe is at the centre of making basketball a truly global game and Nike is helping to advance that internationalisation by reaching fans all over the globe through design and innovation within the sport.

The 2017/18 season marks the beginning of Nike’s eight-year partnership with the NBA that has already seen the brand capture the attention of sports fans with the launch of the Nike NBA Connected Jersey. A revolutionary piece of apparel, the jersey brings fans even closer to the game through NikeConnect, an app that unlocks the best of Nike, the NBA and basketball culture, all personalised to you.

The Nike Kobe A.D. “Mamba Mentality” Pack is available exclusively at NikeTown from Sunday 22nd October and on nike.com.
