“I am looking forward to assembling the GB squad for these FIBA EuroBasket 2017 qualifiers,” enthused GB Head Coach Joe Prunty, ahead of what will be a big summer for the team and for British basketball.
“This is another important campaign for British Basketball and I have already had several good conversations with players about the programme and their availability for the summer.
“We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us and are looking forward to the challenge,” he added.
A preparation camp will start in Portugal on 06 August, with Coach Prunty currently in the process of selecting an initial 16-player squad. The play-caller has also been involved in the development of the plans to make sure the team is prepared as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The team will play test events in Portugal, Slovenia and Manchester (at the new National Basketball Performance Centre in Belle Vue), where the preparation camp will continue. More details on the preparation games will be made available in due course.
