England U18 & U16 Rosters Revealed for Haris Tournament 2014

Following on from their most recent training camps, the squads for the England Under-16 and Under-18 teams that will be competing at the annual Haris Memorial Tournament in Manchester from 27-29 December have been selected.

Head Coaches Karl Brown (U18) and Alan Keane (U16) are taking fifteen and fourteen players respectively, as they continue to look ahead to selecting a final 12 to represent the country at the European Championships next summer.

With the Under-18s missing arguably the top three ’97s in the country in Josh Steel, Akwasi Yeboah and Calvin Nevill-Kintu it will be an opportunity for other players to step up. Kyle Carey and Aidan Gastaldi-Davies will no doubt take on some of the scoring load, with the likes of ’98 borns Carl Wheatle and Sam Japhet-Mathias looking to make the most of it a year young.

Alan Keane’s side also have absences of key players (Nelson Boachie-Yiadom, Caleb Fuller, Jay Carter, Zephi Sharman and Ashley Briggs) but will be looking at Kaiyem Cleary, Jacob Iwowo, Micah Savery-Richards, Zion Tordoff and Ryan Murunge to lead the young squad as they gain valuable experience in Manchester.

The teams will face off against Spanish side CB Cornella, France’s Boulazac, Irish team Sligo All Stars, Manchester Magic as well as Tilton and St Andrews Prep from the US, in the tournament that tips off at 6pm on Saturday.
