ESPN Player

With the fourth week of the college basketball season completed, we take a look at all the top performing Brits in NCAA Division 1.

Player of the Week

Teddy Okereafor earns his second Player of the Week honour after producing a 28-point haul to go along with a career-best nine rebounds to guide Rider University to a big Conference win at home to Siena College. The junior guard shot 3-5 from beyond the arc and made all seven of his free throw attempts in an impressive display. Okereafor then added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in a 77-64 defeat at Iona.

Best of the Rest

Gabe Olaseni tied his career-best with an equal team-high of 15 points, whilst adding 7 rebounds (six offensive) and 3 blocks in a crushing win on Saturday, before following that up with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds as Iowa made it six straight.

Post-game:

The 6’10” senior centre has battled with grief to post some impressive performances of late, and plans to return home soon via QCTimes.

UC Irvine defeated Sacramento State 74-62, with GB U20 duo Alex Young (13pts/4ast) and Luke Nelson (8pts/5rbs) adding valuable contributions to the win. Last week’s Player of the Week, Ben Lawson scored 5 points (2-3 FG) in a 93-81 loss to Murray State.

Jack Crook pulled down five boards to go with four points, while Shore Adenekan made both FG attempts on his way to five points in an 87-75 loss for Seattle. CJ Vaughan scored four points in action for Morgan State as they fell to an 85-65 defeat during the week.
