Rising basketball brand Under Armour Inc. are reportedly close to agreeing a $30m per year deal with Kevin Durant to steal him away from the clutches of Nike.
Durant’s seven-year $60m contract with Nike expired last week and the 25-year-old is now set to earn $325m over ten years if he accepts Under Armour’s lucrative offer.
UA executive Michael McBride dropped a hint that they are close to a ground-breaking addition after posting this tweet.

Stephen Curry and Brandon Jennings are other notable clients that have already been signed by Under Armour but the addition of Durant would be a major coup for the company. The reported deal is already leading to increased rumours of the reigning MVP’s Washington homecoming in 2016.
