Ben Mockford Signs First Pro Deal with Caceres in Spain

Great Britain Senior Men’s Ben Mockford has signed his first professional contract after joining Caceres, the Spanish LEB Silver side announced.

Mockford graduated from St Francis University earlier in the summer, averaging 12 points per game in his senior year having been one of the top 3-point shooters in the NCAA before being called up to the GB senior side for the first time.

The 25-year-old proved to be one of the surprises of the summer after impressing in a string of performances including a 19-point display against Bosnia in the final EuroBasket qualifier on Sunday.

GB Head Coach Joe Prunty has been full of praise having seen Mockford continually impress and make an impact off the bench.

“Ben deserves a ton of credit for being such a great team-mate and working so hard,” he said. “Especially with it being his first year with the team and only being fresh out of college – he can be proud of himself.”

GB team-mates Dan Clark and Devon van Oostrum will also be playing in Spain this season with Clark having joined Fuenlabrada this week.
