England U18s Suffer Second Loss Against France

England under-18’s fell to a 73-45 defeat against France in their second game at the European Championships in Konya, Turkey.

After a scoreless opening five minutes, England briefly found their rhythm and led 10-8 before France snatched the lead at the end of the first through Lucas Dussoulier’s three at the buzzer. They powered clear with a dominant second quarter and continued to extend their lead in the second half on their way to a routine victory.

17-year-old Josh Steel led the resistance with 14 points and 6 rebounds with Patrick Whelan the only other scorer in double figures with 10.

Karl Brown’s side must now beat Lithuania in their final group game tomorrow and hope that other results go their way if they are to progress in the competition.

Box score.
