England under-18’s now face a battle to stay in Division A after suffering their third straight loss to finish bottom of Group B at the European Championships.
Lithuania ran out 77-61 winners to book their place in the next round after the game was tied at 15 at the end of the opening quarter. Centre Domantas Sabonis was a key contributor to England’s downfall after recording a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Josh Steel top scored for England with 15 points while Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye added 11. Karl Brown was again unable to call upon the services of Jules Dang-Akodo but the point guard is expected to return to action on Monday.
England will now compete in the Classification Group G along with Russia, Belgium and the Czech Republic which will help determine their final place.
