Great Britain Under-20s fell to 0-2 at the Division B Under-20 European Championships with an 86-67 loss to hosts Bulgaria on Friday afternoon.
A dominant first half from the host nation saw their lead balloon to 19 points at the break, and despite a much better second half from GB that saw them match Bulgaria point for point, it was too little too late.
“We’re quite disappointed with how the game went,” said Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby afterwards. “We came out wanting to be really energetic and really disrupt the home nation, but our first half they scored 50 points and we didn’t stop them. We only decided in the second half to really pick it up, but it was too late.”
GB will look to bounce back when they face the Czech Republic on Saturday at 6:30pm UK time.
