Having long been an admirer of GB Institute Barking Abbey Basketball Academy and what they are doing to develop young British talent, I was honoured this summer when I was given the opportunity to do some work with them throughout the coming season. Largely based around helping grow the profile of the programme through digital media, one part of this is producing highlight reels of their players to help with recruitment.

Below you’ll find the first (of many) coming this season – a look at 1994 born David Akibo dominating the competition early in this season, including highlights from his impressive performances at the Kestrel Guards Pre-Season tournament. Akibo, a 6’6″ bruiser with a soft touch, is getting interest from a number of different NCAA Division 1 schools and will likely be taking his game stateside next season. Check it out:
