From adidas:

“Today adidas debuts the new adizero Ghost 2 TV commercial featuring Atlanta Hawks power forward Josh Smith in the lightweight basketball shoe available exclusively at Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Back for a sophomore season, the updated adizero Ghost 2 features a lightweight, supportive construction to lock the foot down during cuts and drives while keeping players light for fast breaks and speed to the basket.

In the commercial that debuts today on YouTube and premiers on television October 1, Smith talks about the pressure to perform and how he rises above the weight of a city’s expectations. The spot was filmed at Philips Arena and around Smith’s hometown of Atlanta.

“With my type of the game, I need speed,” said Smith. “I can’t have a shoe that weighs me down. The adizero Ghost 2 is light, and has support for when I’m driving to the basket. The shoe’s got style too with the patent leather toe—clean and sleek so you can look good while you play good.”

“In only its second year, the adizero Ghost franchise is already one of the most successful team shoes in the business, said Lawrence Norman, adidas Vice President of Global Basketball. The design is engineered to make players lighter, stronger and faster so they can perform their best during the biggest games.”

The adizero Ghost 2 features a new and more aerodynamic SPRINTWEB upper to provide lightweight stability and improved support for fast breaks and cuts to the basket. SPRINTWEB’s breathable mesh web layout offers maximum breathability and comfort to keep the foot cool while extra foam in the heel offers increased cushioning and improved fit around the foot. The adizero Ghost 2 is available now for $100 at Dick’s Sporting Goods and online at Dick’s Sporting Goods.com and adidas.com .
