Ron Artest To Play in The UK?(!)

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest (otherwise now known as Metta World Peace) seems to be contemplating a move to the UK if his twitter stream is anything to go by.

The NBA lockout officially began on Friday, leaving a number of players considering moves to play around the world.

It started with one simple tweet which said:

“I’ll keep yal updated on what country I should play in on ronartest.com Italy is pretty good I like the uk even though they don’t pay much”

He then asked his 150,000 followers where they think he should play, and followed it with:

“I think the uk league might be fun!!!!”

“I just loveee the UK!!!!!!!! I will keep yal updated on what country I’m going to play for while the lockout is here!!!!!!”

“Uk Japan France Germany Australia Those are my top five countries right now!!! Second is Italy China Philipines Turkey Greece”

“RT @Sibry: @ronartest would love to see you play in the uk for the bbl. Join the Glasgow Rocks! UK!!! I think I’m coming !!!!”

After a few hours sitting on it, it would appear he hasn’t changed his mind, tweeting at @Britbasketball this morning (a bot account retweeting all the BBL news on Twitter):

“What are some good teams!!! Is it boring or fun in the uk?? I like to bring excitement to cities!!!”

“Like scoring a basket then moonwalking Or shooting a and one jumper. Then perform a vs!!!!!”

Regardless of whether or not we see Artest in a BBL uniform next season (and Hoopsfix welcomes him with open arms!), he knows where to come for his British basketball fix! Check the vid…
