Portugal Extinguish England U18s’ Hopes of Advancing

The England Under-18s’ hopes for advancing to the second round of the 2011 Division B European Championships were extinguished on Sunday, as they lost 74-66 to Portugal.

The loss meant the team have no chance of advancing, facing another year in Division B next season, and will now compete in the 9th-18th classification games.

Raphell Thomas-Edwards led England with 16 points and 8 rebounds, Simeon Esprit added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, whilst Rowell Graham had 9 points. 11 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots.
