It was heartbreak for GB forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning on Thursday night as his name was not called at the 2011 NBA draft in Newark, New Jersey.
The University of Washington graduate has been on the workout circuit for the past couple of months and had received positive feedback from a number of teams (follow how he got on with our MBA NBA Pre-Draft timeline).
After the 60th pick was called, which saw his teammate Isaiah Thomas selected by the Sacramento Kings, Bryan-Amaning tweeted:
“Thanx for all the support yall..london sorry I kept yall up..guess it weren’t meant to be..congrats @Isaiah_Thomas2“
Bryan-Amaning will now look for an invite to an NBA team’s training camp or pursue a career in Europe.
