Matthew Bryan-Amaning’s University of Washington got a thrilling 89-87 victory Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 tournament. Bryan-Amaning had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, going 7/11 from the floor and 2/3 at the line in 28 minutes. Chris McNamara registered a DNP for Washington State. Washington advanced to face seventh-seeded Oregon in today’s semifinals.

Northwestern got a 75-65 victory over Minnesota in the first round of the Big Ten tournament. Alex Marcotullio was given the starting spot, and it paid off, playing 37 minutes, going 5/8 from the field and 1/3 at the line for 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Northwestern (18-12) now faces No. 1 Ohio State (29-2) in the first game of today’s quarterfinals.

Portland State beat Seattle 81-71. Paul Guede played 25 minutes, going 3/5 from the floor and 2/2 at the line for 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Michael Moss made a three-point play with 2 seconds left to give Houston Baptist an upset over second-seeded New Jersey Tech 72-70 on Thursday in the first round of the Great West tournament. Ben Daniels played 4 minutes, going 0/1 from the floor to remain scoreless whilst grabbing 1 rebound.

New Mexico State grinded out a 66-60 win over Nevada in the quarterfinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament. Patrick Nyeko had 1 rebound in 10 minutes.

East Carolina upset No. 1 seed Alabama-Birmingham 75-70 Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament. Ovie Soko played 32 minutes before fouling out, going 0/5 from the floor and 0/2 at the line to remain scoreless, whilst grabbing 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Wednesday 9th March
Colorado unleashed a 12-2 run in the final minutes to slip past 12th-seeded Iowa State 77-75 Wednesday in a hard-fought first-round game in the Big 12 tournament. Jamie Vanderbeken played 24 minutes before fouling out, going 2/11 from the floor and 1/2 at the line for 6 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal.

Top-seeded Bethune-Cookman defeated South Carolina State 66-50 on Wednesday night to win its eighth straight game and advance to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament semifinals. Joe Ikhinmwin had 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 block in 23 minutes, going 2/4 from the floor in the loss.

Nevada beat Fresno State 90-80 in the first round of the WAC tournament. Patrick Nyeko had 5 points and 1 block in 13 minutes, going 2/3 from the floor.

Rice held off SMU in the final moments for a 58-57 victory in the first round of the Conference USA tournament. Myles Luttman registered a DNP.
