Joe Hart (1993 born, Class of 2012) led Blair Academy to a State Championship Wednesday night, beating The Lawrenceville School 58-52 in the New Jersey Prep A final played at Lawrenceville in Lawrence Township, New Jersey.

Hart, originally from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and developed through the Southend Swifts programme, finished with 15 points, capping off a strong season at the renowned prep school which counts Team GB members Luol Deng and Justin Robinson amongst it’s alumni. Hart has been a key part of Blair’s offense this season, being one of the leading scorers on the team, including dropping a season high 23 points against Mercersburg on the 3rd February.

The England U18 was elated with the win, talking to Hoopsfix, he said:

“There is no better feeling than winning a state championship, knowing that you made it, you’re the best. No matter what happens from here on out nobody can ever take that away from you. All the hard work finally paid off. But best of all the feeling that you went through all of this with your family and you came out of it the other side a champion.”

Hart is recieving interest from Columbia, Princeton, Lafayette, Elon, & Davidson amongst others.
