BUCS Premier Results Week 2

Week 2 of BUCS basketball Premier league action was not short of drama and controversy.

In the North, defending champs Leeds Met suffered their second straight loss, this time to Durham who avenged their first round knockout from the Final 8’s last year at the hand of Leeds (full game recap here). Last week’s surprise Edinburgh went down to Loughborough who saw a spectacular shooting display from Dave Holland. Holland cemented himself as one of the best shooters in BUCS last year and looks to retain that unofficial title as he went off for 27 first half points-banging 8 three’s! He finished the game with 10 three’s for 35 points in total.

In the South, Oxford continued to make a statement putting a 44 point drubbing on London Met, whilst LSBU welcomed Kingston to the Premier league with a 37 point rout. The Midlesex-Brunel game was marred by a number of controversial calls, none moreso than a technical on Brunel (their 6th of the game!) with 17 seconds remaining as they were down by three, effectively sealing the game for Midlesex.
