GB BEAT BOSNIA, TOP GROUP

Team GB grind out an ugly 84-80 win in Bosnia to go 3-0 in Eurobasket campaign and top group.

The surprise star was Dan Clark. The 21-year-old finished with 23 points, hitting all five of his three-point attempts, in arguably the best night of his career.

Veteran Nate Reinking showed why he’s still on the international scene at the age of 36, as he scored 21 points and dished out three assists. Meanwhile, Luol Deng and Pops Mensah-Bonsu each finished with 16 points, with the latter pulling down 13 rebounds.

Ratko Varda led the Bosnians with 20 points, while Kenan Bajramovic had 16 and Henry Domercant 14.

Coach Chris Finch was a pleased man after the game.

“This was a big win for us,” he said. “We didn’t play as well, but we managed to grind out a result. Bosnia did a good job on Luol and Pops and guys like Dan, Nate and Flinder really stepped up.”

Britain now host Ukraine on Saturday and Hungary on Tuesday, and Finch is looking forward to the pair of games at the NIA in Birmingham: “It’s good to be headed back to the UK for two games.”
