Matthew Bryan-Amaning and his Washington Huskies advanced to the next round of the NCAA Tournament with a shock 80-78 win over Marquette last night on a Quincy Pondexter leaning bank shot with 1.7 seconds remaining. It was the eighth straight win for the Huskies who have heated up at exactly the right time on the season after almost missing out on the NCAA Tournament.
In the second half, the Huskies trailed 60-45 with 13:58 left before outscoring the Golden Eagles 27-11 in a monster comeback to take a 72-71 lead. Bryan-Amaning chipped in with 11 points (5/9 field goals, 1/2 at the line), 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 blocks in 25 minutes of action.
Washington will face third-seeded New Mexico on Saturday at 5.50pm ET, don’t miss it!
