Avoiding the upset bug that has taken down several favourites in the NCAA tournament, the top-seeded Atlantic Coast Conference champions opened play in the South Regional with a dominating 73-44 victory Friday night over No. 16 seed Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Barnett and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s season is now over after appearing in the NCAAs for the first time and beating Winthrop 61-44 in the tournament opener Tuesday.
Hugh Barnett played 8 minutes in this one, remaining scoreless after missing his only shot attempt but did grab 2 rebounds and block 1 shot.
The full Arkansas Pine-Bluff-Duke game is still available to view at March Madness on Demand.
Matthew Bryan-Amaning of the Washington Huskies is now the only Brit left in the NCAA Tournament after beating Marquette to advance to the second round on Thursday. You can view his game tonight at March Madness on Demand (10pm UK time tip).
