If you, like the rest of the British basketball community were glued to March Madness on Demand last night, you would have seen Matthew Bryan-Amaning put in an excellent performance to help his Washington Huskies advance to the Sweet 16 with an 82-64 rout of New Mexico.

It was the Huskies 9th straight win, including the Pac-10 tournament and wins over two higher-seeded opponents at the Shark Tank.

Bryan-Amaning had 15 points (7/10 field goals including a couple of big one handed dunks, and 1/4 at the line), 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks in 26 minutes of playing time. In the Huskies 9 game win streak, MBA is averaging  12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks while shooting 63% from the floor (50 for 80).

Washington advanced to next week’s regional semifinal in Syracuse, N.Y., against the winner of second-seeded West Virginia’s meeting with Missouri on Sunday. The Huskies are in the round of 16 for the third time since 2005.

UAB never trailed for the second consecutive NIT game in beating North Carolina State 72-52 on Saturday.Ovie Soko was dressed but did not play due to a hamstring injury.

No. 2 seed UAB (25-8), which tied the school record for wins in a season, will host fourth-seeded North Carolina on Tuesday in the tournament quarterfinals, fingers crossed Soko is ready to go by then!
