Yazmin Edwards wins JUCO title with Eastern Arizona

Yazmin Edwards JUCO Champion

Former Ipswich standout and 2025 Hoopsfix Pro-Am MVP Yazmin Edwards has won a JUCO national championship with Eastern Arizona College, after they defeated New Mexico Junior College 57-51 in the final

The Monsters claimed the 2026 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship, with Edwards playing a supporting role in the program’s historic achievement.

Edwards, who committed to Eastern Arizona on a full athletic scholarship in January 2024 and was also the 2024 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic MVP, has successfully transitioned from British basketball to the competitive JUCO landscape. Her journey from Ipswich Basketball Club and IBA Copleston to national championship success exemplifies the growing pathway for British talent in American college basketball.

Edwards enjoyed a solid second year campaign with the Monsters, recording a season-high 16 points against Yavapai College in January. The guard appeared in 34 games throughout the season, contributing consistently off the bench and demonstrating the scoring ability that made her a standout in British basketball.

Her best all-round performance came in a 69-51 victory over Odessa College in November, where she recorded 11 points and eight rebounds while shooting an impressive 71.4% from the field.

The championship caps Edwards’ debut season at Eastern Arizona.
