Sheffield Hatters continued their quest for a clean sweep of trophies this season after easing past Manchester to win the 2026 SLB Cup title.
They made a strong start on their way to a 90-71 success at the AO Arena in Manchester; backing up their triumph in the SLB Trophy in January.
Georgia Gayle led the way as Finals MVP with 20 points and seven assists in the win, with Megan Mullings adding 15 points, and Antoinette Lewis posting a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The first points of the game went to Manchester, but it was the Hatters who soon moved into early control with a 22-14 advantage after 10 minutes.
Cheyenne Stubbs hit two triples early in the second as the gap hit double figures, though Manchester kept in touch with teenage guard Irene Oboavwoduo impressing in a senior final debut.
Back-to-back scores for Frannie Hottinger, followed by a three from Jori Davis cut the gap to just two points at 35-33. However, the Hatters hit back with a 10-0 response and would lead 49-39 at the half-time break.
The momentum continued when play resumed as Sheffield raced clear to establish a commanding advantage at 73-50. From there, there was no way back and Vanessa Ellis’ side were able to celebrate making it two titles out of four for the 2025-26 season.
Sheffield also lead the way in the regular season with a 10-2 record heading into the final stages.
