City of London Academy’s Ayla Habbal has been chosen to participate in the third Basketball Without Borders Global Women’s Camp.

Hosted by the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the 2025 Women’s Basketball Without Borders Global camp will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from the 17-19 July 2025, in association with WNBA All-Star Weekend.

The event features 40 top high-school-age prospects from around the world with each player led through a variety of activities, including movement efficiency drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, three-point contests, 5v5 games, and life-skills and leadership development sessions. They will also attend the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on the 19 July.

“Everyone at CoLA is really excited for Ayla’s opportunity out at BWB in Indianapolis, she has a tireless work ethic and it’s amazing for her to get this recognition,” CoLA Basketball Director and programme founder Jackson Gibbons BEM said.

“We will all be following her progress and we know know Ayla will have an amazing experience out there. As her coach, I’m so proud of her growth as a player and the resilience she’s shown this summer especially.”

Habbal was individually selected for the camp based on her outstanding basketball skills and leadership abilities.

In this year’s WNBL Division 1 Playoff Final, Habbal, collected MVP honours, leading the CoLA offence and dropping a game-high 17 points to go with nine rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.

She also picked up D1W U19 Player of the Season, as well as the WEABL South’s MVP award, and has played in the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic for the past two summers.
