Former Myerscough and Bradford Dragons forward Great Osobor has committed to Washington with a reported $2 million in name, image and likeness (NIL) agreements in place, according to ESPN.

Considered the top available player in the transfer portal the 6’8″ Spanish-born, British raised prospect follows his coach Danny Sprinkle from Utah State to the Huskies, having also started his college career with him at Montana State.

The $2 million in NIL deals is the biggest reported valuation in college basketball this season.

“I would like to thank God for putting me in this position,” Osobor, was the MVP of the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic in 2021, told ESPN.

“Washington will allow me to maximise my potential as a player in my final year of college basketball. Coach [Danny] Sprinkle has been with me every step of the way since I came from England, and I cannot wait to help the Huskies get back to the NCAA tournament.”

He has one year of eligibility left after a breakout junior season where he was named Mountain West Player of the Year, averaging 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

“I was not a highly recruited player coming out of England, with only a few Division I offers,” Osobor reflected.

“I owe [Montana State assistant] Chris Haslam a lot for that. I am more motivated than ever to show young kids that it doesn’t matter where you come from. If you put in the work and necessary sacrifice, your time will come.”
