London Lions have made a major signal of their European ambition with the signing of GB star Temi Fagbenle.
The 6’4″ star brings a wealth of international, Euroleague and WNBA experience to the Lions, as they are rumoured to be entering the EuroLeague Women for the coming season.
The one-year deal will see the Olympian play at home for the first time, following a standout career overseas which included a WNBA Championship in 2017 with the Minnesota Lynx.
“We are delighted to have Temi joining us for the upcoming season,” Lions GM Vanja Cernivec commented.
“As one of the greatest players Great Britain has produced, we are privileged to be working with her and appreciate her trust in what we are building here at the Lions.
“We all know what she is capable of on the court but the leadership she will bring off-court too, will no doubt prove invaluable”.
Fagbenle’s career to date has been nothing short of remarkable, having won three MVPs, along with nine titles, plus being named to a EuroBasket and Olympic Qualifying Tournament All-Star Five with GB.
