Emerald stay unbeaten as Ozzy-Momodu shines in Week 2 of Hoopsfix Pro-Am

Team Emerald made it two wins from two, while Team Diamond got themselves off the mark in Week 2 action of the Hoopsfix Pro-Am.

Recent GB debutante Ire Ozzy-Momodu starred in a 59-47 win for Emerald over Ruby with a dominant double-double of 10 points along with 19 rebounds.

Shanice Beckford-Norton had a game-high 20 points in the loss as her side trailed throughout the contest.

Emerald had edged ahead at 9-6 after the opening 10 minutes before gradually increasing their control with an 8-0 run early in the second. The gap hit double figures for the first time late in the third, but Beckford-Norton took over for Ruby as they closed to within six points in the fourth.

However, Kyla Nelson responded with a three-point dagger with just over a minute left on the clock and Itziar Fernandez put the icing on the win with another triple just before the final buzzer.

Team Diamond then tasted their first success as they earned a 52-43 win over Team Sapphire with Beth Sarson, Jessie Ford and Helene Trailin all in double figures in the win.

Diamond used a strong start as a platform for their maiden win with a 15-8 opening quarter effort setting the tone. Sapphire were within two points in the second, but fell away in the third to leave a tall ask in their comeback mission.

Esther Oluade hit a couple of threes in the fourth to keep up the pressure, though it was not enough to trouble Diamond as they held on despite 14 points and nine rebounds from Molly Lavin.
