Hoopsfix has partnered with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic as an official digital partner as the event heads into its second year.
The tournament, organised by the Sport Changes Life Foundation (SCLF) in partnership with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (BHOF) and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) takes place at the SSE Arena, Belfast on November 29th, 30th and 1st December 2018, and is the only NCAA Division 1 basketball tournament that takes place in Europe.
“We’re really happy to have been named the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic’s digital partner,” commented Sam Neter, owner of Hoopsfix.
“Having connected with Marc, I’m a true believer in what the Belfast Classic is doing, and am excited for its potential. It provides a rare opportunity to watch college hoops on this side of the pond, and more people need to know about it!
“Having followed from afar last year, we’re looking forward to being there in person for this year’s edition and producing content around the event, along with Belfast’s basketball culture.”
Marc Mulholland, Executive Director for the Belfast Classic added:
“We are delighted to have Hoopsfix onboard as our digital partner ahead of this year’s Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic. We are extremely appreciative of the great support Hoopsfix are giving the tournament and we think the medium’s dedicated readership will enjoy getting the scoop on this year’s line-up before big basketball returns to Belfast.
“Readers can expect exclusive tournament news and features by Sam and the team at Hoopsfix as we prepare for the second Belfast Classic.”
The 2018 event will feature an expanded field to eight schools; University at Albany (America East Conference), University at Buffalo (Mid-American Conference), Dartmouth College (Ivy League), LIU Brooklyn (Northeast Conference), Marist College (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Horizon League), University of San Francisco (West Coast Conference) and Stephen F. Austin State University (Southland Conference).
The schools will compete in two four-team brackets, with University campus round games in America leading into two tournament brackets in Belfast aptly named ‘Samson’ and ‘Goliath’ after the iconic Harland and Wolfe cranes in the Titanic quarter ship yard of Belfast. The tournament will be broadcast live across America.
