Scotland backed up their win over England with a 63-52 success over Cameroon to ensure a top-two finish in Pool B at the Commonwealth Games, in Townsville.

Scotland made a strong start on the defensive end as they held their opponents to just four points in the opening period as they took an early 11-point lead. They managed to narrowly increase their advantage by half-time as Scotland took a 29-15 lead into the break in a low-scoring affair.

Cameroon – who beat India in their tournament opener – began to find their rhythm on offence in the third as they racked up 25 points to close the gap to just four at 44-40 ahead of the crucial final period.

However, Scotland were able to hold firm with Murray leading from the front, helping his side repel the fightback from Cameroon as they continued their unbeaten start to the pool stage with a second win.

Scotland cannot finish outside of the top two and can guarantee first spot in Pool B with victory over India, while England will take on Cameroon in a must-win clash.

The top two in Pool B will meet the bottom two in Pool A to determine who will take on the top two sides from Pool A in the semi-finals.
