Martelle McLemore Goes OFF In National Shield Final!

Thames Valley Cavaliers broke clear in the final quarter to secure a 102-84 win over Oxford Brookes University, and claim the National Shield title but it was Martelle McLemore who stole the show.

Watch McLemore pick up the MVP award after finishing with a ridiculous stat-line of 42 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and nine steals.

The 6’5″ American wing was playing in the BBL just a couple of seasons ago, before dropping down a few divisions with Thames Valley Cavaliers, where he has dominated since.

“It was a mixture of things,” McLemore said after the Final on why he decided to play at an inferior level. “My personal situation, as well as a lot of my good friends play here and Coach Robert Banks has a 5 year plan on where we wanna be and I thought it would be good to help build something.”
