The BBL have confirmed that its chairman, Ed Percival, has died suddenly.
Ed held the position of BBL Chairman for the last two years and had overseen a period of significant growth and improvements in many different aspects of the business.
He took on the role of WBBL Chairman for the inaugural 2014-15 campaign and was also a valued Trustee of the Basketball Foundation.
Ed was known throughout the entire British Basketball community, having been involved for many decades, and was a much loved and admired.
Tributes have been paid following the news of his death with some taking to Twitter to offer their condolences:
