NBA Journeyman Lou Amundson Opens Up on Realities of Being in the League

NBA journeyman Lou Amundson, who is currently on a 10 day contract with the New York Knicks, has opened up and spoken about the realities of being an NBA player and what he has done to try and achieve longevity in the league.

The 6’9″ big man has played for 10 teams in his 8 years in the league.

“It’s probably a lot less glamorous then people envisage it as being,” Amundson said when asked what it’s like to be in the NBA,

“This is my tenth team, so there’s a lot of instability and especially for a guy like myself, a lot of travel, it’s tough to have a relationship with a girl, it’s tough to have a home base, it’s tough to get comfortable anywhere.

“We’re obviously very blessed and lucky to have this job but I think there’s a side of it that a lot of people don’t see that’s a lot more difficult. It’s stressful, it’s hard work and it’s lonely.”
