Great Britain have confirmed the 12 players who will kick start the campaign to qualify for EuroBasket 2015.
The squad are now in Reyjkavik preparing for the opening game of the group against Iceland which begins tomorrow.
It contains the eleven players who travelled to Tbilisi and includes Drew Sullivan who missed the four-nation tournament in Georgia for personal reasons. All twelve players are fit and eager to being the task of helping GB reach their fourth EuroBasket Finals in a row. Ashley Hamilton takes his place in the squad after shaking off an ankle injury sustained in the game against Georgia – making the final cut for the first time in his career, along with Ben Mockford, who is also a fresh face.
Both Ogo Adegboye and Luol Deng never did make it to training camp, while it was Orlan Jackman and Paul Guede who were the final cuts.
“We have come a long way in a short amount of time,” GB Head Coach Joe Prunty told gbbasketball.com. “We have dealt with some unique circumstances but we have always believed it is important to control what we can control. The qualifiers will be difficult but we are excited and ready for the challenge.”
