England under-18’s 85-67 defeat to Montenegro has left them on the brink of relegation at the European Championships.
A first win would have ensured they retained their Division A status for 2015 but a seventh consecutive loss means that they now have to beat either Poland or Russia tomorrow to keep their survival hopes alive.
Jules Dang Akodo top scored once more with 18 points whilst adding 6 assists, for his best game of the tournament. Josh Steel added 14 points while Deane Williams finished with 11.
At best, Karl Brown’s side can finish 13th which would see them narrowly avoid relegation. However, to do so, they’ll need to pull off the great escape with a double-winning weekend with victories on Saturday and Sunday.
