Joel Freeland will not suit up for Great Britain this summer, despite being released on their initial squad list, according to Portland press.
The Oregonian’s Mike Tokito tweeted on Wednesday night that Freeland has said he will not be playing at the Eurobasket qualifiers, instead remaining dedicated to improving with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Joel Freeland says, despite several media reports, he will not play for GB in EuroBasket qualifiers this summer. Dedicated to #Blazers.

Freeland was one of three NBA players named in the initial squad, along with Luol Deng and Byron Mullens, however question marks also remain around both Deng and Mullens.
Already without Pop Mensah-Bonsu, the team will likely look similar to last year’s Eurobasket squad.
GB will begin their preparation with two warm up games vs Latvia on July 19 and 20 at University of Worcester Arena, Worcester, before travelling to Belgium and Georgia for further prep. They then tip off their Eurobasket qualifiers against Iceland in Reykjavic on Sunday August 10.
