GB were led by Luol Deng’s 21 points, whilst Pops Mensah-Bonsu was a handful inside on his way to a 12 point, 12 rebound double double.
Despite a shaky first half, GB pulled away in the second thanks to an increased defensive intensity and better ball movement. Deng commented after the game:
“In the second half it was certainly evident that we came to play. We turned it up and we looked like the team that we are supposed to be.
“When the second half started we knew we had to come out and play defence and be more focused.”
The team moved to 1-7 in their warm-ups so far, and will look to add another win tomorrow in their second match-up against Portugal at Ponds Forge.
