The Great Britain Futures side completed their series against Germany Under-23s on Sunday with a win, securing a 72-66 victory.
The win gave them a 2-1 record against the German side, and provided the team with valuable experience in international competition.
The Futures were again led by Kyle Johnson who finished with 24 points and 7 rebounds, Andrew Lawrence added 20 points, going 4/6 from downtown and adding 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Nurse was again able to give at least 15 minutes court time to each of his ten man roster, and he received good contributions from Will Neighbour and Shane Walker with 9 and 7 points respectively.
GB Futures coach Nick Nurse was happy with the result:
“It was a good bounce-back for us after yesterday’s loss.
“From an effort, toughness and togetherness stand-point it was very pleasing, and it was a nice way to finish our time in Germany.”
British Basketball’s head of performance, Warwick Cann, was also pleased:
“It was a very gutsy win away from home. We showed very good composure against great international pressure. To draw the official series and go 2-1 over three games against a major basketball nation is very pleasing.”
